Master's Program

In the Keio University School of Medicine Master's Program, courses are conducted in Japanese. For international students who wish to apply, please refer to the information below.

Application Process

Applicants must discuss their research plans in detail with a graduate school committee member of the program they wish to participate in, and obtain that committee member's preliminary consent to become the applicant's research supervisor. Committee members are responsible for assessing degree theses and granting degrees. Faculty List (PDF)

Applicants must contact the Office of Student Services by email to receive contact information of graduate school committee members and to discuss their eligibility to apply. Some application procedures may change, so please be sure to keep in contact with the Office of Student Services.

Documents

All application documents listed below must be sent to Office of Student Services, Keio University Shinanomachi Campus, 35 Shinanomachi, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-8582, Japan, by a method that allows tracking, such as EMS. Applications will be accepted during the application period only and must arrive on or before the last day of that period. For further details, please refer to the application guide (Japanese only) (PDF).

  1. Application card (printed web entry form)
  2. Photo and proof of payment card (PDF)
    A photo must be taken within the last three months
     - Print size H: 40 mm x W: 30 mm
     - Face and shoulders, directly facing the camera
     - Plain background
  3. Application form (PDF)
  4. Curriculum Vitae (PDF) listing academic records beginning with junior high school
  5. Statement of purpose (PDF)
  6. Undergraduate academic transcript
  7. Certificate of graduation or statement of expected graduation from undergraduate
  8. Letter of recommendation (only for non-student applicants)
    If the applicant is not a student, they must submit a letter of recommendation from their current place of employment
  9. Address card (PDF) ; this should be pasted onto the envelope
  10. An envelope which shows applicant’s home address; this will be used for sending an examination ticket to the applicant.

After the application has been officially processed, an examination ticket will be sent to the applicant by postal mail.

  1. Written examination: English comprehension test (no dictionaries allowed) and essay (in Japanese)

Announcement of Results

Examination results will be announced on the following date:
October 2, 2015, 11:00 a.m.
Applicants can check their results on the Graduate School of Medicine's website (results can only be accessed by applicants). Applicants will be notified of the URL on the day of written examination. An announcement will also be posted on the bulletin board of the Office of Student Services.

Admission Registration


Procedure

Admission registration consists of the submission of required documents and payment of academic fees. Required documents will be informed to applicants after passing the entrance examination. For details regarding academic fees, please visit the Tuition and Scholarship page.

Registration must be done at the Office of Student Services, and must be completed during the following period:
November 9 to November 13, 2015
