Eligibility for Admission:

  • University graduates with a degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or pharmaceutical sciences (*limited to six-year programs), or applicants who are set to graduate by March 31, 2020 (September 21, 2020 for September admissions)
  • Applicants that have completed 18 years of full-time education outside of Japan whose most recent degree is in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or pharmaceutical sciences*, or those who are set to graduate by March 31, 2020 (September 21, 2020 for September admissions)
  • Applicants who have completed a master's or professional degree program, or those who plan to do so by March 31, 2020 (September 21, 2020 for September admissions)
  • Applicants who have been awarded a master's degree or equivalent professional degree outside of Japan, or those who are set to do so by March 31, 2020 (September 21, 2020 for September admissions)
  • Graduates of the National Defense Medical College, or applicants who are set to graduate by March 31, 2020 (September 21, 2020 for September admissions)
  • Applicants designated by the Minister of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology
  • University graduates (with a degree other than medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or pharmaceutical sciences*), or those that have completed 16 years of full-time education outside of Japan, who after graduation engaged in two or more years of research at a university or research institute, and based on their research findings, have been recognized by the Keio Graduate School of Medicine as having academic ability equal or greater to those that have received a university degree in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or pharmaceutical sciences
  • Or, applicants at least 24 years old at the time of matriculation who are recognized by the Keio Graduate School of Medicine as having academic ability equal or greater to those that have received a university degree (in medicine, dentistry, veterinary medicine, or pharmaceutical sciences*), or who have completed a master’s or professional degree program

Note:・Regarding 2 above: Individuals who completed their education in less than 18 years must contact the Keio Graduate School of Medicine regarding admission eligibility.
・Regarding 1, 7, and 8 above: ‘University’ refers to a Japanese university as defined by Article 83 of the School Education Act.
・Regarding 1–5 above: For those who have yet to graduate: students who do not meet application requirements by March 31, 2020, will not be allowed to matriculate even if they have passed the entrance examination.
・Applicants must contact the Office of Student Services by e-mail to confirm their eligibility at least a month prior to each application period.

Application Process

We strongly recommend that you read the [application guide] prior to beginning the application process. Applicants must discuss their research plans in detail with a graduate school committee member of the program they wish to participate in, and obtain that committee member's preliminary consent to become the applicant's research supervisor. Step3) Application documents submission

All application documents listed below must be sent to Office of Student Services, Keio University Shinanomachi Campus, 35 Shinanomachi, Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo 160-8582, Japan, by a method that allows tracking, such as EMS and couriers (e.g. FedEx, DHL, etc.). Applications must be postmarked by the last day of the application period.

Announcement of Examination Results

Examination results will be announced on the following dates:
1. Term A Examination: October 18, 2019, 11:00 a.m.
2. Term B Examination: January 24, 2020, 11:00 a.m.
Applicants can check their results on the Graduate School of Medicine’s website (Applicants will be notified of the URL on the day of the English comprehension test). An announcement will also be posted on the bulletin board near the Office of Student Services.

Enrollment Registration

Enrollment registration consists of the submission of required documents and payment of academic fees. Required documents will be informed to applicants who have successfully passed the entrance examination.
